Malia Furtado
From Staunton, Virginia, Malia comes from a large family of Shenandoah Valley musicians and started playing fiddle at the age of three. At Galax Old Fiddler’s Convention, she discovered Bluegrass. Malia currently tours with the Gina Furtado Project and teaches Bluegrass Fiddle and Classical Violin privately and at The Front Porch in Charlottesville.
Earlysville Bluegrass Boys
From Earlysville, Virginia, the Heetderks boys love to pick and sing traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel as well as some original tunes. David (16) on banjo & dobro, John (14) on mandolin & fiddle, Daniel (13) on guitar & bass.
Me & Martha
Don DePoy and Martha Hills began performing together in 2003, and they have been playing ever since. Drawing on the Shenandoah Valley's musically rich wellspring, their songs explore everyday life's universal themes in rural America. They play an assortment of acoustic mountain music instruments, including the 5-string banjo, guitar, mountain dulcimer, autoharp, Dobro, bass fiddle, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica, limber-jack, and juice harp. Weaving music with history, stories, and education, audiences are often encouraged to sing-along and participate in the musical journey. Me & Martha have an innate talent for making everyone feel at ease, welcome & musical.
Beverly Street String Band
The Beverly Street String Band is a juggernaut of musical energy. This power-house trio of master Trad musicians features Janie Rothfield (fiddle),Bill Wellington’s (clawhammer banjo) and Allan Carr’s (guitar) as well as fantastic singing by each member of the band.
